A mechanism explains why to investigate.
Changing oxygen availability provides a biological stimulus. A plausible mechanism alone cannot tell us whether a person will benefit.
THE SCIENCE
A closer look at what intermittent hypoxia–hyperoxia studies have found—and the questions still being explored.
AN EMERGING FIELD
Researchers are exploring effects on exercise capacity, cognition, and metabolic health. Some early findings are encouraging in specific clinical populations. Results vary by outcome and protocol.
The studies below did not evaluate Superhuman Altitude. They do not establish outcomes for healthy home users or prove that IHHT extends lifespan.
Changing oxygen availability provides a biological stimulus. A plausible mechanism alone cannot tell us whether a person will benefit.
Look at the participants, comparison group, co-treatments, and outcome measured. Small clinical trials are useful signals, with limits on how widely the findings apply.
The papers below concern the IHHT method using study-specific equipment. We do not present them as clinical validation of Superhuman Altitude.

CLINICAL RESEARCH
Cognition & exercise tolerance
34 geriatric patients · Ages 64–92
The IHHT group showed greater improvements on selected cognitive tests and a six-minute walk test than the group receiving multimodal training with ambient air.

CLINICAL RESEARCH
Cardiometabolic research
65 patients with metabolic syndrome
In this randomized trial, the IHHE group had lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure than the control group after the intervention. Both groups continued medication.

CLINICAL RESEARCH
Sports research
15 athletes with overtraining syndrome · 19 healthy controls
The athletes with overtraining syndrome improved exercise-test performance after a programme combining IHHT with low-intensity exercise.

CLINICAL RESEARCH
Understanding the limits
Geriatric patients receiving multimodal training
This trial found no additional benefit for mobility or perceived health when IHHT was added to multimodal training.
